 The
facility is equipped with backup power with Uninterruptible
Power Supplies (UPS) for each building and a diesel
generator that will power the entire campus in the
event of a loss of commercial power. State-of-the-art
fiber optic cable and other communications facilities
have been provided in the facility. A dedicated
communications link to the United States has also
been provisioned with ample bandwidth for any current
need. The facility buildings are subdivided into
areas (floors and wings) that can be dedicated to
a customer. Each dedicated area is physically separated
from other customer areas with card access that
allows for entry restriction to employees assigned
to that customer project, if required. The Local
Area Network can similarly be subdivided logically
and physically and workgroups dedicated to specific
customer projects.
Security
Velankani currently employs a data security defense
and a three tier physical security defense in
its Bangalore facility. It has invested a significant
amount to protect the intellectual property and
assets of its clients. Velankani has the capability
today to secure physical access to a wing on a
client basis. In addition, Velankani has the capability
to isolate client data and network from other
clients and the teams dedicated to those other
clients.
The physical security defense includes Perimeter,
Inner Area, and Vital Area security. The techniques
that have been used to create that security defense
include physical security mechanisms such as barriers,
controlled access and guards, and employee photo
identification and electronic access cards. In
addition to the data and physical security provided,
Velankani ensures protection of client Intellectual
Property and trade secrets by requiring a Non-Disclosure
Agreement with all engineers and periodic security
audits.

Each
developer has a dedicated, networked workstation.
Servers are hosted in a secure, isolated server
room. This development infrastructure, including
software tools and communications (LAN, WAN) is
managed by the on-site Velankani infrastructure
team. For each project, a change control system
and a defect tracking system is implemented. All
required management, development and test tools,
relevant target hardware and software environment,
build and test servers, project websites, etc.
are set up by the infrastructure team based on
the project requirements.
